1. The following format should be used in minutes writing.
  2. The Heading /Title: This is written at the top of the answer page and should contain: contains: the purpose of the meeting, date and venue.

Example: Minutes of the Staff Meeting of GBHS Kumbo Held on the 25th of July 2026.

N.B: The title should be centralized as above and underlined if written in lowercase. Otherwise, it should be written in uppercase.

  1. Body. Begin with an opening sentence that specifies the time of the meeting. For the purpose of exams, candidates will not go into details of opening words, prayers, agenda and adoption of previous minutes as done in most meetings. They will need to go straight the task as required by the examiner. Always remember to use only the selected relevant material.
  2. c. Closing: The candidate is expected to end with the name of the secretary, if given, at the bottom right-hand side of the paper. If no name is given, they should simply end with “The Secretary’.
