What is TOEFL?

The TOEFL Test measures one’s ability to use English in an academic environment correctly. To take this test, four basic language skills need to be developed by the candidate. These include:

  • Reading which is required to understand academic texts,
  • Listening, to facilitate understanding of lectures and conversations,
  • Speaking, to facilitate communication, expression and support of one’s ideas,
  • Writing, to be able to organize and develop ideas clearly.

Note: TOEFL is not simply a vocabulary or grammar test. You need to understand information and communicate effectively.
