What is a Preposition?
A preposition shows the relationship between two words. It tells us about time, place, or direction.
Example: The book is on the table.
2. Prepositions of PLACE
in, on, under, behind, in front of, between
Q: Where is the cat?
A: The cat is under the table.
Q: Where is Douala?
A: Douala is in Cameroon.
2. Prepositions of TIME
in, on, at
in months / years: in September, in 2026
on days: on Monday
at + time: at 8 o’clock
Q: When is your English class?
A: My English class is on Monday at 9 AM.
Q: When were you born?
A: I was born in 2005.
3. Prepositions of DIRECTION / MOVEMENT
to, into, onto, towards, from
Q:Where are you going?
A:I am going to school.
Q: Where did he put the pen?
A: He put the pen into his bag.
