a) Proper Nouns: These are nouns that refer to specific persons or places. They are usually begin with capital letters. Examples: Peter, America
b) Common Nouns: They are general without any specifications. Example: the boy, my country
c) Concrete Nouns: Refer to things we can see and touch. Examples: table, pot
d) Abstract Nouns: They can neither be been nor touched. Examples: air, love
e) Countable Nouns: These are things that can be divided into countable units. Examples: two beds, one iron.
f) Uncountable Nouns: They cannot be divided into countable units. Examples: water, sand. They cannot however be counted in quantities. ( A cup of water, a bag of sand)
g) Compound nouns. This is the combination of two nouns to form one. Examples: class + room = classroom, sun+ flower=sunflower
